But, what about LinkedIn?  Are you taking advantage of everything LinkedIn has to offer in terms of networking, therefore growing your business?  If not, you’re missing out on a golden opportunity – and here’s why:

LinkedIn is the most relevant of the social media platforms in terms of business networking and making connections.  The LinkedIn user is a serious, business-minded individual, who is social, yes, but driven to grow a successful business.  This is the culture of LinkedIn and there is simply no other social networking site that offers you the ability to connect with forward thinking people just like you!  That said, the notion some might share that the focus of LinkedIn on business will not assist you in acquiring prospective home buyers and sellers is simply not the case.  With so many people from every industry imaginable connected on LinkedIn, doesn’t it stand to reason that just the opposite is true?

With almost every industry under the sun represented on LinkedIn, and with so many of them relevant to real estate – i.e. bankers, home inspectors, mortgage brokers, attorneys, etc., it makes a lot more sense that you’ll connect with a great number of people (and potentially all of their connections & their connection’s connections – because that’s how LinkedIn works) that will be able to drive business your way.

There are a number of ways you can drum up business via LinkedIn.  You can make connections by requesting introductions to individuals through people you already know in your network;  you can request recommendations from people (people you have done previous business with recommend you and your services by essentially singing your praises, with these recommendations appearing right on your profile); you can join LinkedIn groups or start your own LinkedIn group, allowing you to interact with hundreds of people who share your interests and objectives (there are plenty of real estate and related groups out there); and, you can answer questions on LinkedIn, posed by other users, displaying your expertise with respect to all things real estate.  Become the go-to-person that people respect, trust and want to connect with!
